PICK & SHOVEL:
A BLACK MAN’S POLITICAL LOVE AFFAIR

As I sit comfortably, I wonder what thoughts would arise in my mind in this particular moment of serenity on my couch? Would the ‘crease’ of information cast a shadow over which thought would rule in that moment? Is that the most important ‘concern’ that must be addressed, or that thought that would make humanity lose ‘decency’ and ‘order’ rule the debate?
It is long known that Black people make calculations based on spiritual clarity for all given situations. Now the keys to this discernment was taught to all of us long ago in the ‘fold’. The ‘fold’ is the place, the energy, where the two choices lie. The barrier between the ‘fold’ is the darkness that separates called the ‘crease’. As Black people, we don’t necessarily chose the option that is free of ‘shadow’. Black people choose wisely between the two choices available because no choice is worse.
So, we use a ‘pick’ to break the surface to know what’s underneath, or we use a ‘shovel’ to remove the debris and clutter that hides the ‘purpose’ beneath.
Issue 2: Off the Assembly Line?
I chuckle, from time to time, about the points along my timeline. How I was acknowledged as a grown Black man, but I was still pretty much an empty jar still wondering what ‘tap’ or taps do I chose to fill up and drink vigorously. I say that to jump right into how now it seems that President Obama is the blame for the rise of Donald J. Trump. Huh? It wasn’t the ‘free piece of ass’ the Legacy Media jumped on like a bull in heat. No. It wasn’t the hundreds of millions of dollars they spent climbing atop each other for ‘ratings’ to cover the buffoonish nature and antics of Donald J. Trump. Nooo! That wasn’t the catalyst that made Donald J. Trump seem legit to more people than his foolish band of idiots.
It was President Obama’s fault. Got it. Now, in returning to my life, as a person should. The younger years, so to speak, as I needed to ‘pick up the pace’ as far as learning how to be a honorable man. Notwithstanding, I had just spent my first 4 years on my own in the Army. I still knew that was just covering ground I should have been ‘trained’ on by my parents. Yeah. I had a lot of ‘catching’ up to do, and life and time didn’t give a shit what I didn’t know!
Which brings me to this ‘hype’ machine called America. The new ‘hype’ is what? Oh, A. I. The Legacy Media is doing exactly what they are supposed to do. Do this America. When the Legacy Media says that jobs are being lost to A.I. Ask them what jobs are being lost and where are these jobs located? In what sector, industry and field and see what the Legacy Media responds with.
Do it with GLP-1’s. Do it with all the money, checks, we supposed to have gotten. Ask the Legacy Media to let us know when the tales of the birth of the new gilded age supposed to start. Ask the Legacy Media why they never ‘qualify’ the statements of President Donald J. Trump. Like duh? Or. You know what I mean Vern?
Ask the Legacy Media why they never took responsibility for all the legitimacy they gave to lynching? Ask them why they never questioned law enforcement with even the slightest intensity about the lynchings? Hardly any suspects ever arrested were there? Ask the Legacy Media why they never kept asking about where the money went from the Savings and Loan Bailout? Where the money went to the Banking Bailout in 2007 to 2008?
Freedom of Press? Where was the so-called ‘Freedom of the Press’ when Black folks were being slaughtered day after day? When Black lives were unjustly thrown in prison? Where was these so-called ‘Freedom of the Press’ champions when it took the Civil Right Movement decades to gain traction?
Do you see where I’m going with this now? Why does it always take the lone Black journalist, or two, to fight for so-called Freedom of the Press rights? Sound akin to another period in Black History? Why is it always left up to Black People to know what’s right, and then risk their lives only in the end to be targeted by the forces of evil in America? Why?!
Look. Don’t assume that I’m weary in fighting for what’s right. My mortgage company PHH Mortgage is forcing me to spend money getting a lawyer to fight a provable wrong with my mortgage. That’s a pleasure for me to do so. You know why? Because it is not about property or money as I will carry none of that shit into Heaven with me. It is about right and wrong. Period!
Let’s finish up. All these Legacy Media types will claim they fought valiantly against Donald J. Trump when he is gone. Will you believe them?
What matters is who fought for the civil rights of whom? The sick and dying children? Our babies? Our elders and physically disabled? Health insurance for the quality care of all humanity? Along with decency and justice for all? Watch who will try to stand and be counted amongst the just?
You’ll see. The assembly line that builds along the track of life adds pieces and parts all the time. Some people swat away the parts meant to help them build the good and right things in them.
Those are the people that America seems to celebrate. No wonder. Even the worse amongst us sees the damage in broken people. I believe that’s the ‘PICK’.
