Founding Statement: There comes a precious moment in time that all life drops the ignorance of superiority. When the ground realizes it needs the water to survive. The tree realizes it needs the ground to hold it in place. The air realizes it needs the tree to replenish the oxygen it desperately needs to create the weather patterns that climatizes the Earth. Responsibilities are intertwined because a living planet depends on every element to function according to its purpose.
Mammals pretend that they’re more sophisticated than any living breathing planet, and thus conclude that liberties can be taken with all three essential elements. The ignorance of mammals I’m afraid is a contradiction of their celebrated intelligence. Intelligence that informs mammals they aren’t required to be simple creatures that fulfill their purpose, but creatures that can take actions harmful to the elements that are dedicated to their stated purpose. Mammals believe such devotion constrains their freedom to live as they please.
This revelation and the antagonistic approach mammals have decided upon against the elements will be simplified in this digital periodical. All the talk of unity will be broken down into useful parts that will be easy to understand and implement. Know this my fellow mammals, all forms of life owe it to each other to care for one another. It’s just that mammals have enjoyed the echo chamber of approval from other mammals because the elements never raised their voice. We now know for certain the elements do have a voice, and they have registered their collective disapproval of the selfish nature of mammals…
Issue 21: The 4 Powers
Out In Black: 23
#2: Crashing Waves of Water
I am starting with the second power because I believe it inherently exists to teach us of one of the character traits that makes water a formidable force to oppose. Water is patient. Water rejuvenates. Water is an essential element of all life as we know it. That is why this trait of water is unable to be withstood. Water is consistent because it can never stop. Water has the greatest asset of all on its side. Time.
This is why I believe I was placed on this Earth. Not to be endowed with all the answers before I am truly able to discern their meaning, use, and direct their purpose. I had to learn over nearly 6 decades of life to understand what I have been given in due time. When the ‘First Father’ bestows knowledge upon me; it is not for me to say to him, ‘You’re late, I needed that information last year, or last week, or yesterday’. I have learned to understand I will receive the gift of knowledge and wisdom when he thinks I can process it. Period.
Now, I am glad to look back over periods of my life and overlay it with what I have learned. I must say I cast a big smile in my mind which manifests itself on my face. All the soldiers I have trained. All the people in the jobs I have influenced. Utilized patience with. To see them all grow and become greater in rank and standing than I ever did brought swells of emotion to my heart. Both in and out of the Army. I’m glad they are taking care of themselves. Taking care of families. Doing the right thing. I pray for them even now.
To see all that power coursing through their bodies was undefining to my senses at the time, but I knew one thing for sure. It was not my calling to suppress, restrain, disqualify or describe their power in negative terms. I often mitigated intense conflicts between them. Showed confidence in their abilities. Pulled most of them out of their reluctance to take leadership. Showed them how to build trust in their people and not shit on them like what our superiors did to us.
I made sure they knew that ‘asshole’ leadership style would not get them very far. ‘Fear’ burns itself out really quick when you are facing soldiers or civilians full of power themselves! I so worried about my soldiers being like the leaders I hated when I didn’t have the rank to shield myself or my comrades from their evil.
I took all my soldiers to Afghanistan twice and didn’t lose one. After 24 months in country and many ‘clips’, we all came back home with our heads held high. We looked after each other. Admonished each other to rely on our training and each other.
The consistency of water crashing against the rocks. Water is patient. Water has time. The rock does not.
