Give Me That Ole Time Religion?
Declaration of Humanity 4.0…This founding statement is different. This one is being written in clarification of an ongoing threat of fear that ‘evil’ seems to offer more rewards than ‘good’ ever will, and more overtly the verbal Christians are flocking more openly to evils’ promise of fortune. While this trend is alarming I must counter with this fact. Evil has never gone out of season in America.
Good is more than a match for evil, but the righteousness of good can only be activated from a straight line. What is that straight line you ask? It is the center of every human beings’ known universe. If it is straight it is a ‘Heartline’. A heartline from the heart to the soul because when our heart stops our deeds will be called into account. The ‘JUDGE’ will know what you did and not what you meant to do…

There were certain things I learned growing up in poverty that have become legendary for me. Why is that you ask? Because I have transformed what my Dad failed to do into much of the wisdom I’ve passed along to my children. Like knowing how to abound and abase myself (careful, it means to make fun of and not think about yourself too highly) while suffering hunger and being blessed with abundance. I’ve softened my disdain for many of his decisions that led his family to remain in poverty far longer than necessary. Inevitability, it was his family to conduct as he saw fit.
That said, all the aches and pains of hunger I felt to include the mental anguish. Whether I deserved to be fed as much as his plumb belly and body looked. It sparked my intense displeasure of him as I observed his disregard for us wanting to be equally fed as well. So, as a Black man, I know the difference between a meal of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches to a hot meal of fried chicken, collard greens, mashed potatoes and soda pop.
I still remember the sound of water running from the kitchen sink into a large pot as my mom prepared to cook collard greens for two hours on the gas stove. The potatoes wrapped in foil she put in the oven also for a couple of hours. Oh, the sizzle of the oil in the skillet as she laid in freshly seasoned chicken with a smell that drew the God’s attention away from their holy tasks. I know something about affording to eat a hot decent meal or a cold bologna sandwich for supper.
Listen to me clearly now America. Do you know what was sacrificed to get yo asses to crying about how high food prices are now? It was union people. By union people I mean folks that did without a hot meal for supper. May I say. They did without hot meals for supper for a long time in order to fight the evil of ‘oppression’ in wages. Check yo Bible you Bible thumping ‘EVANDEVICALS’!
I’m not mad. Why not? Because I get what my job is. That’s why I was created to master the science of mental health and bring order and respect to the field. Listen! ‘There are no OFF LIMITS topics in mental health, period! Otherwise, what is the point? Americans have always acted foolishly where wages and sacrificing must rule. What else could explain it?
I mean Democrats have pushed for higher wages as far as I can remember. I am approaching 60 years old and I know this. Americans, you’re crying about how high grocery prices are? I made $3.35 and hour for a 40 hour work week. As a single young man in the late 80’s and early 90’s that amounted to $120 dollars a week after taxes. Now what do young people make? $17 to $22 dollars an hour starting out? That’s between $500 to 700 a week after taxes. Really?
Tell me of one Republican that would say it to ‘yo face’ he wants your wages to stay higher than the rate of inflation? I mean the Federal minimum wage in America is $7.25 hour! For God’s sake are you kidding me? I have said many times on my website, www.landcause.com, that in order for these wages to be locked in and able to rise continually; inflation has to hover between 3% and 3.5% on a yearly basis.
How in the Hell you think you get those current basic hourly wages Americans? You believe what the Republicans tell you? Republicans who, if they ever voted to increase wages did so begrudgingly. Remember that child, me, that sat on the living room floor watching cartoons, waiting for my Dad to get home so we all can eat dinner. The sound of a growling stomach suffering the same ‘groundhog’ moment daily for nearly two decades.
I have said this before to the Democrats. I will forcefully say it again. Don’t feel any guilt or remorse for driving economic growth. Let the clowns that believe the Republican fairy tales and all their horseshit vote for them. Keep that train barreling down the tracks ready to make the next steep climb. And the next. And the next. I’ve learned to push every idea I get forward to the right people for the reasons I’ve written about above.
For that little boy sitting on the living room floor with his eyes glued to the television after finishing his homework. That little boy waiting on better days. That little boy that hoped people like the Democrats remembered him. Remembered him enough to block out the noise. Block out the pats on the back. Block out all the fake praise and glory. Hoping there was one Democrat that knew if he or she had just one idea that would better some child’s life.
That one Democrat would then absorb all the punishments and threats of losing an election. Just get it across the line into law. So one more child could eat more than a bologna sandwich for supper.
