This biweekly newsletter will seek to explain the pain and suffering mainly people of color endure through no fault of their own.  The dehumanizing excuses our people always seem to elicit from people in power that make our Christian Brothers and Sisters accept their reasoning as if it was uttered by the Almighty.  Lastly what I see with my own eyes begs the question from my conscience.  “Are we loving or can we really love our neighbor as ourselves”.

First, I am not knocking my Brothers and Sisters of Spaniard Ancestry for wanting to cash in on their newly minted status as the ‘largest’ minority group in America.  You’ve surpassed Black people.  Good.  Let me tell you something before you get too comfortable throwing your support behind Republicans.  White Supremacy and White Privilege on steroids still exists in America.  Well, that’s something you’re ‘finding out’ right now anyway.  That was supposed to elicit a chuckle from you?  Well anyway, Donald J. Trump has ordered the round up of people that look like you’re illegal in America.  His policies are not supported by me.

Mr. Garcia should have your support my Brothers and Sisters of Spaniard Ancestry.  Why?  I don’t need to bring up all the examples of my people turning on each other.  There is much recorded history for you to review when you have doubts it happened.  The sense that Black people turned on each other knowing the ‘oppressors’ thought even less of them for doing it still vexes my mind.

Anyway, moving on.  All the rights you enjoy I will say humbly this my Brothers and Sisters of Spaniard Ancestry; try to thank the Black and light skinned Brothers and Sisters of African Ancestry that took one for the team for you to have the rights all of you enjoy.  Now, if you want to ‘earn’ them the way my people earned them I do have shoes on that I will gladly unlace for you to slip on. 

I suggest you wear them.  Why?  Oh my God, you just don’t know what you have unleashed upon yourselves.  Oh, by the way, here’s a whip I bought to keep me grounded in the facts of who it was and still do suffer unspeakable acts of cruelty for me to have my rights today.  I still don’t have them fully mind you, but you would know that if you didn’t believe Black Folks were guilty as soon as you saw them accused of something right?  Sound familiar?

Mr. Garcia is accused of being a wife beater.  Mr. Garcia is accused of being a gang member.  Mr. Garcia is labeled a criminal even though he does not have a criminal record.  Where have you heard claims like these made in America?  Oh, I remember.  They are the go to mainstays of Legacy Media when they want to assist in the destruction of Black People.  The Legacy Media of course being ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX NEWS, THE WALL STREET JOURNAL, THE WASHINGTON POST, THE NEW YORK TIMES and so on.

My Brothers and Sisters of Spaniard Ancestry do you really believe you will ever be White enough to be accepted by White Supremacy and White Privilege on steroids?  True, as I’ve been instructed on that not every White person is racist, but too many White people stand idly by while injustice and vile cruelty is happening to everyone else.  I’m going to tell you something that has helped me stay firmly on the side of what’s right.

Metaphorically, practice this or imagine being in a dark room at night with your eyes closed.  That’s three things against you finding an exit out of there right?  Now, imagine yourselves in the same room with all the lights on.  Street lights shining through the cracks in your curtains and the exit sign is lit up like Christmas red.  When evil presents itself to you it often comes after you in the ‘dark’.  I don’t mean it being dark literally?  I mean you have darkness covering your heart which unfortunately means that you will never have empathy or want justice for anybody.  Proverbs 4:19.

I don’t want my Brothers and Sisters of Spaniard Ancestry to look down upon your distant kin that speak the same language you do.  It may be a variant, but it is still your language.  Don’t have an attitude of ‘I got it made and they (migrants) need to do it the same way I did through applying for entry into America’.  Well, believe it not, the process might not be the best way for them to stay alive. 

Let me tell you something that happened to me when I lived in Mobile, Alabama with my first wife.  We had decided to move back to my home town of Birmingham.  Well, I needed help loading the moving van.  My Brothers and Sisters of Spaniard Ancestry lived above me in the apartment complex and I asked them for help.  You know what happened?  Without a millisecond wasted they said yes.

I told them I didn’t have much as I offered $10 dollars.  They of course refused payment which of course again astonished me.  I gave them the $10 spot anyway and thanked them profusely.  I have many friends of Spaniard Ancestry and never considered them with anything but the utmost integrity. 

My Brothers and Sisters of Spaniard Ancestry.  Don’t take on the ways of the oppressors.  White Supremacists don’t care if you voted Republican.  Republicans right now aren’t saying anything about helping Mr. Garcia, who was adjudicated to stay in America legally by the way.  Not a single word of empathy for Mr. Garcia or his wife or his children.  Hatred is still hatred no matter what form it takes.

My Brothers and Sisters of Spaniard Ancestry, I implore you to be careful with whom you align your compass seeking direction, approval and peace from the threat of tyranny. 

Black People from experience know that option is delusional.

STATEMENT OF FACT:

Having limited understanding is saying to yourself as a man that I am not told everything.  My ‘HELP MEET’ was not formed in front of me.  That tells me a lot right there.  It tells me that God in his infinite wisdom knew that I, a man, was not worthy enough to share his divine purpose for the ‘woman’. 

So, in my stupidity I sought to downgrade the ‘woman’ in authority.  Need I say more?  Just look at the history of this world that man has written.  It is always slanted to a robust portrayal of the ‘man’ ruling in strength and certainty, and the woman as a subservient figure gazing upon him as a loving mother.  This is the history that has distorted the role that the ‘woman’ had as a birthright to from the moment of her creation.

As God said, ‘It is the woman that makes the man complete and God’s creation stable’.  In other words, without the woman there is no life!  Man without the woman there is no progress.  A man that does not know this is a blot to himself.  I will give you the ancient meaning of ‘blot’.  You do not know it, so stop. 

A ‘blot’ in the getting is, ‘an unacknowledged necessity that is ignored in the midst of one seeking vanity or glory not due unto him’.  ‘It is behaving in a manner unsuitable to the natural order divinely laid forth by a benevolent creator’.  ‘A false sense of something being possible by one person alone in defiance of righteous mandate’.

Woman, it is nigh time to close the distance and occupy the same space at the same moment with the exact same authority.  For it was ever written.  There is no life…without the woman!

Issue 8:  More Woman Praise Means More Progress

Needless to say this but I will say it anyway.  Anybody looking honestly at the 2024 United States Presidential election knows that Vice President Kamala Harris put on a flawless performance.  Now did some of her advocates make statements less than perfect?  Sure.  If I was the campaign manager, I would tell everybody if you make a mistake just say it.  I would implore everyone before we start that if you are inexperienced in your oratory career; it is okay to pause a moment and slow down your speech. 

Sometimes we all can get carried away wanting to please.  I did the same when I was younger.  I didn’t have someone advising me either that I needed to slow my voice down to allow my brain to align my thoughts and words.  Refrain from anger when you’re insulted.  The brain cascades off track easily when you react emotionally.  Also, it is okay when someone doesn’t get the point the first time.  Just paraphrase with more brevity and be concise.

The women in the Democratic Party are ascending towards the top of leadership as it should be.  The more leaders that are given the opportunity the better.  Women can fend for themselves.  It’s in my writings on my website.  As a matter of fact, I suggest many of you my loyal users that signed up please go back and reread my posts.  Also go to my YouTube channel ‘Out In Black’ and subscribe.  I promise you that I will strive to entertain and improve my delivery technique to make it more enjoyable.

I don’t care if Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett or Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio Cortez make speaking errors.  I can tell what’s in their hearts.  They aren’t there to make fools of themselves or a mockery of the process.  Democrats should always be building up talent and by that I mean this.  Make Democrats learn the ropes quicker.  Have the newly elected ones start studying how to assume a chairmanship.  Have Democrats reach out to all people and this is key.  Reach out to the districts that mirror their districts in their states. 

Remember it was the woman that answered God truthfully in the Garden of Eden.  A woman don’t need to figure out her role.  She already knows that she is endowed with the same authority as a man.  Don’t continue the hype America created for you all women.  Keep ascending to your station.

That praise you seek?  It is within you.  I don’t understand for the life of me why women and men ‘empty’ out all their God given strengths, and then replace them with ‘knockoffs’ of little quality and value?  What do I mean by ‘empty’ out their strengths you say?  It’s like this.  When a person is born they age around capable or uncapable parents and people.  Those human beings can either allow them to develop their own talents and abilities, or they can suggest to them what talents they possess.

Mind you, most parents don’t know what their children can do because they never take the time to discern their abilities.  Discern means to watch, talk to them, receive feedback and provide a knowledge base of what has already been done in the world.  In education I mean.  My sisters were always taught to prepare or learn to be a housewife.  Okay, but what about developing that brain of theirs’?

Anyway, just think of it like buying a box of colors or crayons and throwing them all into the trash.  Yeah, you are about to assign the colors you believe are important.  Your children have time to discover the colors and how they can bring their views about life into focus.  What if your child or children want to use the color that was in the box you just emptied out?  How would they know what colors were in there if you don’t let them explore their options, and then add another color by combining two or more colors to their creative drawing?

Praising women that have shown they got the skills at something is a good thing.  Women children shouldn’t be ‘emptied’ out and told what’s the best version of themselves.  When a woman becomes an adult she’ll know what’s best for her.  If she then wishes to be career minded; a mother and or a housewife then that’s her decision.

Some Black Folk Sense if I may.  My daughters are business minded and mothers.  I never told any of them that all they could ever achieve was motherhood.  I didn’t tolerate my parents trying to pigeon hole me.  Definitely wasn’t going to let my brain be influenced into thinking I need to be something I would never achieve.  Praise women.  They earned it.

Episode 13:  Ode to Years of Mental Health

I must sound the alarm on mental health for the legacy of mental health professionals. This post and video will be positive and a bit critical, but critical in the sense of learning by not putting faith in unfaithful people that manage these great mental health professionals with their egos. Management is the source of 99.9% of the problems in the expert application of the skills of my mental health professional brothers, sisters, transgender, gay, lesbian and every human being that chooses to live their lives by their own designation!

Wrong leaders

Staff not turning on each other is critical.

Having fun by dealing in the truth and holding each other accountable.

Mental health is my life.  It is a calling that signals more to the dedication required for it than just exchanging physical and mental labor for money.

Behavioral health should be exactly what it is.  It is not being sympathetic to patients misbehaving.  They don’t need your pity.  They need mental health professionals to call them out on their choice to be antagonistic to what is right and what is wrong. 

Black folk sense:  In the Black community we call that behavior trifling.  In other words, ‘being stupid just because you can’.

Oh, this is sort of a knock on men.  If men are so strong and powerful, why is the field of mental health dominated by women?  Women of all races and colors?  Men should be coddled and soothed?  Really?  I don’t care what political leanings get you cheering from your ‘Gameboy’ chair.  Get off your ass and get in the game!  I have witnessed firsthand these women.  These women that you call weak and inferior take a lot of punches and stay engaged in a ‘hold’.  Oh, if you don’t know what a hold is I will not help you ‘find out’.

Like I said.  I have felt two times in my life where I really belonged.  It was the United States Army and the second was in behavioral and mental health.  The care for each other we must have in mental health.  I mean we were all over each other literally.  If you came into the unit and saw us on the floor ‘holding’ a patient you’d think we were lovers.  Don’t get too sexual with your imagination now.  We did it to subdue the patient and to keep each other safe.

The only other place I felt that kind of love was in the United States Army.

Conclusion:

Mental health is not a place to seek an income in the sense that the job requires more of you.  How can I say this.  Mental health is not a place to find yourself if you are still confused about who you are.  Mental health is not difficult.  It can only be difficult if you choose to deviate from the rules even for a second.  That’s when you allow danger to pass through the ‘crack’.  Being stout of heart and certain that this work is important helps stop a lot of patients from tumbling too far down holes they’ve opened underneath themselves.

Black Folk sense to it:  When you are told something from a Black Adult who has dealt with you righteously, believe what they are telling you.

The World of Make Believe says that everybody bows down to the bully on the block.  Point out an example to me in history where eventually the bully didn’t get knocked down.  It may not happen immediately, but it happened.

I FOUND MY ‘BROTHER’

CORNERSTONE STATEMENT:

There are women and men bestowed with the gift to answer the ultimate question.  That question is ‘WHY’.  They are charged with rendering an answer that can be understood by the most contrary element of our society.  Those that foment, spread and traffic in hate.  Our Brothers are in need of guidance and this journal will bring forth a multitude of remedies to address the male illness of unawareness.  The answer to the ultimate unknowns of behavior and responsibility.

Those of us given this perception and understanding to interpret the unknown and apply the information to the known is the essence of our charge. Thereafter decode the messages for the people who oppose themselves.  This decryption is then presented to the people as the explanation of events past, present and future so they may keep updated to the frenetic changes occurring today and those that will arrive soon.

Brothers, this journal is a call to all of you to obtain the knowledge that you lack in every part of your lives. As sons. As brothers. As fathers. As grandfathers. As uncles. As cousins. Ignorance will no longer be tolerated, encouraged or celebrated.  As the ‘First Father’ has said in his Holy Bible “let everything be done decently and in order”.  Honor and truth will not be perverted anymore.  Why?  Because as a Black Man I will impart all I have learned and gathered for over 58 years of life in America and around the world to the young coming behind me and my elders above me.  Why?  Things that now appear as they do will begin to appear as they should be according to what is right?  Help me see to it as this mandate has been divinely ordered.

What did I tell you about the United States Supreme Court?  Did I not say these 6 wise Republican Supreme Court justices would usher in the destruction of America?  It’s not funny anymore is it?  Donald J. Trump just spat in the face of all 6 of those U.S. Supreme Court justices, and I bet you out of all 6 of them not a one reasoned this day out. Not a one knew or even considered the consequences of giving a devouring lion access to all the prey (us) in America.

I mean we ought to mark April 14, 2025 as a date that will live in infamy.  Their wicked act of making Donald J. Trump unaccountable to American law has made us all jesters for his amusement.  Everyone should send a thank you note (electronically of course) to these U.S. Supreme Court justices with a poop emoji.  For shitting on all of us and making our laws impotent when we needed them to be unbreachable!

Again, my Brothers and Sisters of Spaniard ancestry, look at how Donald J. Trump is treating one of your own.  If you are good with that, then God help you because that ‘roaring lion seeking someone to devour will be you’.

Ah, my Brothers and Sisters of Spaniard Ancestry the admonishment I warned you about has arrived. Donald J. Trump, with a shit-eating grin across his face, laughed at one of your own. There is plenty of wisdom to say ‘I told you so’, but the passage about ‘Because he didn’t come for you’ it was okay?  To say Black people deserve condemnation without justice?

Well, how does it feel to be wearing our shoes now?  Oh, and you can continue to fool yourself that Donald J. Trump wouldn’t randomly round up more of my Brothers and Sisters of Spaniard Ancestry.  Even if you are American. I’m sorry.  I gotta say. This shit would be funny if it wasn’t insane!

I’m sorry, I don’t derive enjoyment out of the suffering caused to someone else.  Just because the pain is not being inflicted upon me doesn’t mean it will not be!  Get that through your thick heads America!

Now that’s some serious Black folk sense which I will say Black folks have practiced throughout ‘time’ in America!

Mental Health:  Equal Health

First things first is we must wrestle this false superiority of knowing what is mental health away from the general conversation about it.  Five years of Mental and Behavioral Healthcare experience has allowed me to uncover many expert opinions about it, and all such opinions deriving from seemingly enlightened patients.  Granted some self-care explanations were on track, but being close to the answers cannot be the standard.

Therefore the philosophical nature of mass expertise is counterproductive and harmful to societies understandings about mental health in general.  What then can psychological professionals do to dampen such a kaleidoscope of untrained sufferers diagnosing complicated mental disorders?  My suggestion would be to produce a weekly periodical.  A digital application on a smart phone with current news in the field.  Produced along with a bevy of relatable leaders in the field cast on a short 30 minute weekly video.  These non-stoic professionals will raise mental healthcare to the same respectable level as physical healthcare.

Many changes have led mental health to being reconsidered as a crucial opposite to the same coin of physical healthcare.  More promotion is required if mental health is to achieve the position of equality it deserves for the benefit of humanity.

Issue 18:  Serving Up Bitterness

It is peculiar that the most sought after flavoring for your chosen dish, your chosen meal, that you wish the seasoning to be bitter to the taste.  Again, no political party can grant the wish of 330 million people.  I will say it again.  No political party can grant the individual wishes of three hundred and thirty million people!

Yeah, just like Elon Musk created all the rocket technology that he uses to send our satellites into outer space.  Yeah, the Federal contracts he now gets.  Elon Musk is benefiting from taxpayer dollars that were used to create that rocket technology that Republicans now say Elon Musk created!  Are you shitting me?

Yeah, just like all the unicorn magical money the Republicans are going to find in gutting the Federal government.  Kicking our neighbors out of work.  The neighbors that by the way make sure that your grandmother the Commerce Secretary says is a fraud for wanting her money back every month she deposited into Social Security.  Bitter indeed to the taste. 

Keep on seasoning every meal you make with bitterness.  Sooner rather than later you won’t be tasting anything sweet or sour ever again.  Only the aroma of bitterness from choosing Republicans will creep into the curtains, the walls, the carpet and flooring throughout your home.

Well we can certainly agree that putting your faith and truth in an unfaithful man is asking for things to go wrong.  Donald J. Trump is not a conundrum.  This man is not somebody that is so known by his type it is insulting for people to say they didn’t think he would do what he is doing.  That’s ridiculous.  People, draw on that last percent of truth telling you have within your soul and admit you were joining the chaos mob when you pulled the lever for Donald J. Trump.

Thankfully, there are people who are refraining from ‘I told you so’ to help us save ourselves structurally before all the cracks start letting in the ‘waste water’.  Yeah, like the dam is still in place, but it is not impenetrable.

Episode 10:  Sweet, Sour, Bitter

What manner of God endows us with the ability to instantly renew and strengthen our bodies?  That is the essence of sweetness and the meaning it has to our very existence.  As our mouths consume what is edible, it is immediately attacked and broken down for the fuel that send us off to new adventures.  But we must also be careful not to only expect the sweet tastes of life.  Many things we must consume will be sour and bitter.  The experiences will make our faces turn unrecognizable for a moment.  These other tastes represent the balance that is present in all things important.

Learn them as I have.  They are not bramble bushes aligned along the path to prick and scratch you for no purpose discernable.  The reason is quite clear they are there.  Try your best to accept them, maybe as markers, to keep you out of their snares.  Being marked by them won’t be seen as an ode to troubles of your journey. 

Walk well.  Run if you need to.  But keep your eyes on the road.  To know where you are headed leads in to the satisfaction of your arrival.  When you do reach your destination, take a respite, for your journey may not end there.

That is the sour and the bitter of life, for you may be needed further up the road.

This post follows a post I laid out on my Facebook and dovetails right into my podcast ‘Out In Black’.  It deals with Diversity, Equity and Inclusion while explaining the origin story behind the push to treat everyone with decency and order in America while bearing and battling fierce resistance.

Now, this phraseology of mine has come about after many years of walking amongst my White brothers and sisters with the purpose of understanding their reluctance to accept some basic truths.  Here it is in Black Folk sense.

‘You don’t have to have had a hand in creating a system that you now benefit from’.  In other words, White Supremacy and White Privilege is real.  These systems were created to keep every other race oppressed and suppressed.  Now, that is how you will answer all your White family, friends, co-workers and political commentators that throw it up in your face about how you need to come into the 21^st Century.
